MANILA, Philippines—The eight Filipino seafarers who were rescued by the Iranian Navy from Somali pirates off the Indian coast last April 2 arrived home Wednesday night.
The anti-piracy SOS Campaign has used the occasion of India's National Maritime Day, 5 April, to support Indian seafarers and call on India to do still more to protect its mariners from the threat of piracy.

Officials suspect that fire erupted in the engine room of the vessel but said that they had no information about the extent of damage. Two Coast Guard ships, ICGS Samudra Prahari and ICGS Subhadra Kumari Chouhan have been sent to the spot and were monitoring the situation, they said.
